Editorial makeup artist (and British Vogue contributor) Karina Constantine has made futuristic looks for photographer Nick Knight, turned out gothic dark-lipped beauties for Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø, and cleaned up one Mario Sorrenti under the lens of David Bailey in the pages of British Vogue—but she’s not just a master of transformation. “Russian-born make-up artist Karina Constantine will leave you looking—and feeling—like a better version of you,” says British Vogue Fashion Features Director Sarah Harris. “Her services are regularly called upon by Kate Moss and Natalia Vodianova, and they know a thing or two about being event-ready.”

Karina Constantine is a Russian born, London based make-up artist.

 

After graduating from London College of Fashion, where she studied make-up and history of fashion, Karina got a job as a first assistant to a world acclaimed make -up artist, Val Garland. For the next two years Karina was working at fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris, Milan, contributing towards a creative process of designing looks for shows and various fashion shoots all over the world.

 

It was in 2008 that Karina launched her own freelance carrier as a make-up artist.

 

Since going solo Karina has collaborated with several of the industry’s top photographers such as Angelo Penetta, Bryan Adams, David Bailey, Iain McKell, Jamie Morgan, Mary McCartney, Matt Irwin, Max Vadukul, Mikael Jansson, Michael Roberts, Nick Knight, Norman Jean Roy, Phil Poynter, Rankin, Robbie Fimmano, Simon Procter, Solve Sundsbo, Viviane Sassen and many others.

 

Her editorial work can be seen on the pages of Another Magazine, Baku Magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, Dazed and Confused, ELLE, Esquire, Financial Times, Glamour, GQ Style, Harper’s Bazaar, i-D, Interview, InStyle, l’Officiel,10 Magazine, Marie Claire, NY Times, POP, Sunday Times Style, Tatler, Vanity Fair, V Magazine, Vogue, W magazine.

 

Karina has directed make-up teams for London fashion week shows such as Aminaka Wilmont , Dolce and Gabbana Men, Iris Van Herpen, PPQ.

 

Karina worked on various advertising campaigns including Adidas, Agent Provocateur, Comme Des Garcons Parfums, Diesel, Jenny Packham, Lancaster, Longchamp, Monsoon, Stella McCartney, Roland Mouret, Yohji Yamamoto, Yves Saint Laurent.
